30. Final word

I actually loved high school a lot. I’ve learned so much and met so many people and made so many memories that I’ll never forget. I’m ready to move on to college though! Time for new experiences!

29. What you’ll miss the most

I’ll miss my favorite teachers and my friends that aren’t going to the same college as me. And I’m going to miss just the general atmosphere of high school because even though some people hate high school, I had a great four years there.

28. Your parents

Ah my parents are the best. I feel so lucky because they’re pretty lenient with me and support everything I do. They aren’t one of those strict Asian parents (well most of the time lol) and so they don’t care if I get B’s. They just want me to do my best and I think that’s why I’ve been able to stay so sane through high school. So yeah, shout out to my mommy and daddy!

27. A word of advice to your younger self/underclassmen

Specifically, I would tell myself to join marching band my freshman year LOL. But in general, I would just tell myself to enjoy these years, as cliche as that sounds. The four years of high school pass by so quickly so my advice would be to work hard and stay kind, but remember to relax and have fun.

26. A memorable, spontaneous hang out

I liked that one day where we had our AP Econ test and we got out super early so we had like a three hour lunch and we hung out and ate food and stuff…yeah haha.

25. What you’ll miss the least

Probably walking to my next class in passing period with slow people in front of me or GROUPS OF PEOPLE STANDING IN FRONT OF THE STAIRS OR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WALKWAY LIKE OMFG WHAT ARE YOU DOING. I just don’t understand that ugh.

OH and I also thought of certain people that I cannot stand but I feel bad naming names, and I’m sure you can guess some of them. It’s not that I hate them but I just can’t deal with them being near me lol.

Day 24: Underclassmen Who You Will Miss

A lot of the Alto Sax underclassmen. I’ve become friends with a lot of them and they’ve made marching band really fun.
But also picking two in particular: Sooin Chung and Lisa Iwasaki. Sooin and I became friends right away in band camp and we’ve been in orchestra together and I’m just going to miss her so much! And Lisa…I’ve known her for YEARS and she is like a younger sister to me and I will miss seeing her around at school. :’(

23. Upperclassmen who affected you

Probably the Alto section leaders (Steven, Connor, Talisa) plus Spencer! I think they helped me improve so much and made marching band such an enjoyable experience!

21. A song that brings back nostalgia, and why

I don’t have a good answer to this at all lol so I’m just gonna say that I loved when we played the theme from Howl’s Moving Castle in freshman year orchestra :P

19. Biggest regret

This is cheesy but when people ask if I have any regrets, I like to say I have no regrets because if you keep thinking about what could have happened differently, there are infinitely many possibilities. And there’s no way you can predict the outcomes of all these past events because life is like a chain made up of any events that have happened, big or small. I don’t believe in God but I do believe that things happen for a reason, whether planned or unplanned. But okay enough of this random deep comment…if I could change something, then it would be to have joined marching band in my freshman year! But it’s ok that I started during my sophomore year because regardless, I think my high school life turned out pretty fantastic.

18. A memorable job, summer camp, or internship

So I never did anything productive over the summer because I felt like summer break is for relaxing and having fun lol. But I’ve loved all my summers! I got a chance to visit Japan, Kentucky, New York, and Canada :D

17. Oldest friend who you’ve kept

Shoko! We became instant friends in Kindergarten and we continued to go to Plaza Vista all up until 8th grade. Through those years, we’ve always been friends, even if we drifted apart a little. In middle school, we were really close but sadly we went our separate ways for high school. Even though she’s been going to Irvine High for the past four years, we still talked and hung out and I’m so grateful that I can call her one of my best friends. :)

16. Most surprising friend

I don’t know what constitutes a surprising friend so…I guess someone who I never thought I would be good friends with is Priyanka or Nicole M. I’ve literally gone to school with them since kindergarten but I didn’t really talk to them until freshman year haha. They were SO QUIET in PV but wow after getting to know them more in high school, they are definitely not the people I thought they were (in a good way!). Yeah I’m glad I became better friends with them both because they are great people!
